Bathinda:  Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda continued with its initiative of monthly industrial visits for the students of various departments of the University. The Training & Placement department in the month of May organised industrial visits for the students in the major industries. 

Sharing the information, in a press release issued here on Saturday, the MRSPTU Vice Chancellor Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu said, with the continued efforts of the Training & Placement Department and in the month of May, a total of 295 students of M.Sc. Food Science & Technology, M.Sc.- Physics,B.Sc and M.Sc. Applied Math, B.Architecture, B.Tech- Mechanical Engineering, MBA and BBA visited Pepsico Holdings India Pvt. Ltd, Jindal Stainless Ltd, Trident Group plant Barnala and educational tours to Punjab Vidhan Sabha and Pushpa Gujral Science City.

‘Industrial Visit provides hand on experience to the students about working of the industries and T& P department is handshaking with various giant industries’, he added.

Training & Placement Director, MRSPTU Harjot Singh Sidhu said, ‘Industrial Visit provides an insight into the real working environment. It provides an opportunity to plan, organize and engage things. It provides a good opportunity for the students to interact with the experts”.

The university is focusing on regular industrial visits for the students in their branch specific fields like for Food Science the visits are in FMCG companies namely Pepsico, Trident for textile, Jindal stainless for Mechanical Engineers, Vidhan sabha visit for B.Architecture students and many more.

Various department heads in each industry thoroughly explain all the processes carried out in their respective industries to the students. 

For the future our department has engaged with major industries namely Hindustan Unilever Limited Rajpura, Sonalika International Tractors, Preet Tractors, Sonalika Tractors for industrial visits, Director Harjot Singh Sidhu added.

The Registrar of the University, Dr. Gurinderpal Singh Brar said, ‘Industrial visit for the student is an important part of learning and our university is implementing it in the best possible way.’

Campus Director, GZSCCET Dr. Sanjeev Aggarwal and Heads of various departments of the University applauded the initiative of Industrial Visits.
